Teardrop Camping Trailers...Teardrop camping trailers were in fact the trailer responsible for piquing my curiosity in RV camping. They're small and lightweight and are nostalgic looking to the point where there are teardrop camper clubs and meets. 
I became interested in this type of trailer originally because of their size. I was looking for a trailer that I could sleep in with a friend but could still pull with my 2005 PT Cruiser and not have to worry about the weight of it. I wanted a trailer that I could load with two whitewater kayaks and some food but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg buying a travel trailer. There are several options available to those wishing to purchase one.
At first I found it to be a tad difficult to find any relevant information but after a while I was able to find out that teardrop camping trailers are mosta commonly available as a kit.
Now in general when you order one of these kits it sems that they come as an actual kit that you can assemble at home in your garage or as a kit that can be custom built by the manufacturer. They're definitely one of the coolest looking trailers on the market today, especially given the mass production of retro-styled cars and trucks. One of these trailers would be a very cool combo to take on the road while you're looking for a campsite or trailerpark. As I said above they're very small and lightweight. Basically the main compartment has enough room to sleep two adults. There is a kitchen facility at the rear of the trailer that is located under pop-up cover. They will usually contain a camp stove of some sort, cupboards, maybe a sink in which to wash your dirty dishes etc...
To the best of my knowledge teardrop camping tralers are not avaialable with running water hook-ups, nor do they have "grey water" or "black water" storage capabilities so they may not be the perfect choice for everyone. They are however reasonably cheap, as far as the cost of trailers goes, light weight and easy to tow and and very nostalgic looking. They are likely to turn heads anywhere you go.
