When you think of Coleman camping is usually the first thing that comes to mind. It's no wonder really, they've been around forever, their gear is priced reasonably and it works very well for most people's camping experience. Even though I prefer back country camping and ultralight gear, I also own Coleman products simply because it's an easy way to justify spending money on equipment I've always wanted or thought would be nice to have, without spending an arm and a leg to actually own it.

They have everything that you think you might need for your camping trip plus some extras that you might not have thought about. You can buy Coleman tents, Coleman Lanterns, sleeping bags, an air mattress , Coleman stoves and literally anything else you can think of related to camping.

The good news is that they're a one stop shop and for people who may be camping for the first time or have little experience it's eay to find what you need. All of these items are available either online or at your local Wal Mart or places like it and can often be found on sale.

The bad news is that if you think you're going to be a fan of back country camping, doing hiking trips and such, this is not the gear for you. It tends to be larger and heavier than comparable gear bought from your local outfitter but the bottom line is that you should buy what you need. Coleman camping products are perfect for the person that wants to take their family camping each summer, year after year. Sure their stuff is larger and heavier than other gear but that translates into it being more rugged as well.
