Stay clean with your camping shower...

Ah yes, the camping shower. Some one was really thinking when they developed this little gadget. Of course like any good idea it's quite simple and I kick myself for not thinking of it myself.

Of course if you and your family have decided to hit the nearest family campground then they likely have a facility for you to use for showering and brushing your teeth etc. If not then you are definitely going to be able to use one of these.

What they are is a durable plastic bag with a lid and a spout, similar to those that people carry drinking water with when they camp. They are smaller however than the ones for drinking water and the bag portion is black. They are designed with a loop at one end so you can hang them from a tree or a pole or something.

I like these things for the same reason I like any camping gear that I buy. They're immensly functional, especially for the hiker or paddler, and they fold down to a very small package when they're not being used. This obviously makes them easier to pack and carry when your trip consists of some moving around.

Camping showers are good for most camping occasions with the exception of winter camping. Obviously the water would freeze in those conditions.

In the spring and fall seasons of the year rivers and lakes can be extremely cold and can make bathing quite an unpleasurable experience. Not so with this little gadget. You fill it with water in the morning, hang it in a tree, and let the sun do all of the hard work for you. It's handy balck colour attracts the sun and helps to heat up the water. By the middle of the day you have water that is not freezing cold to wash with. Very nice indeed, it's like a luxury at home, only in the woods.

In the summer it's possible to jump in a lake to get clean but I know myself and I don't like the water even a little bit cold. So, even in the summer the camping shower is getting used.
