A camping coffee pot for your mornings...
If I didn’t have my camping coffee pot with me when I camp, well, life just wouldn’t be the same. I’m not sure what it is about coffee and camping that seem to make them so perfect for each other but something about camping makes me long for coffee. I even remember the smell of it as a kid when I would camp with my parents. There’s something about the smell of coffee in the fresh air of the woods that just seems to help make the whole experience more tranquil and peaceful.
The pot that I‘ve chosen as my “main” coffee pot is actually a lexan coffee press. These things are super. It’s large enough that I can boil water to get me a couple of cups of coffee in the morning. It’s much like the one pictured below. If you click on the image you can check out the price and features etc in a new window.
One of the reasons I find it handy is because it not only makes good coffee, bit all of the internals come apart on it which makes it easier to store small stuff inside of it while you’re hiking or paddling to your next location. When you think about it, if you fill it with stuff that matches the volume it takes up in your pack, it ends up taking up almost no space at all.
If you think that camping coffee pots need to be able to supply more people coffee, for example you have four or five friends along with you on your trip, then you may prefer to use a percolator type pot like the one pictured below. This particular style has been a favourite for campers everywhere over the years. Once again you can click on the image for more pricing info and other info. It’ll also open in a new window to help you compare.
